Interactive educational exhibits at Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History cover a wide range of regional and world history. Part of the museum is dedicated to natural history, both past and present, incorporating live animals, including alligators and birds, as well as life-sized models and dinosaur skeletons. Other exhibits include recreated scenes from past eras of Jacksonville city life, a scientific experimentation area and an environmental education area. Also featuring a planetarium and special daily science shows and events, the museum is in Friendship Park, next to the Jacksonville Maritime Museum.
Open Mon. - Fri. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Sun. 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Adults $9; Seniors (55+) $7.50; Children (3-12) $7; Children under 3 are free. Planetarium and Science show $1.
