The Florida Theatre annually hosts approximately 200 cultural and entertainment events, ranging from pop, jazz, and country music concerts to operas to ballets. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the restored theatre originally opened in 1927 as a silent movie house. It lies in downtown, minutes west of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
